These Fight Club spiked bats are a metaphor for the deconstruction, bright colors, and punk rock elements so prevalent in my work. These bats have followed me throughout my creative life, appearing in physical exhibitions, paintings, and the white-knuckled hands of my toys and sculptures.
Each bat is hand-carved with spikes installed, paint applied, and grip tape wrapped by hand. They are different, with their uniqueness coming both from the organic nature of their creation and the deliberately designed color and pattern variations.
The NFT is a photograph of the real physical bat. A Fight Club NFT can be burned for its physical correlation or the owner can retain the NFT and receive a signed, hand embellished print. Physical bats will arrive signed and numbered, and the final number of remaining physical bats will be determined by how many NFTs are burned.
When: Thursday, August 18th, 6:00–8:00pm ET
Where: Taglialatella Gallery 229 Tenth Avenue, New York, New York 10011
This is an RSVP-required event. Visit this link to sign up: shorturl.at/JKUZ7
The IRL event and exhibition will begin just before Gondek’s presale auction opens at 6:30pm ET. The 5 presale bats and their corresponding NFTs will be on display at the gallery. Additionally, a selection of the NFTs from the larger collection will be shown alongside 20 special collector item bats that are being sold privately by Taglialatella.
Hours: Monday – Saturday, 10:00am – 6:00pm ET and by appointment.
Location: Taglialatella Gallery 229 Tenth Avenue, New York, New York 10011
Taglialatella Gallery will host a weeklong exhibition following the opening event. The 5 presale items, the 20 special collector item bats, and an Infinite Object wall showing a variety of NFTs from the collection will all be on display. The exhibition will run from Friday, August 19th through Friday, August 26th.
The Fight Club presale NFTs (token IDs 1-5) will be shown alongside their corresponding physical bat on framed high-definition NETGEAR’s Meural Canvases. Visit https://www.netgear.com/home/digital-art-canvas/ for purchasing information.
NFTs from the Fight Club collection will be displayed on Infinite Objects cubes at the event and exhibition. Visit https://infiniteobjects.com for purchasing information.
These presale NFTs will be the first five tokens minted from the Fight Club Collection. They are token ID #s 1-5, and exclusively offered for auction on 08/18. Each presale NFT purchase will include two physical redemptions. The five special presale NFTs are the only opportunity for collectors to keep the NFT and to receive both physical redemption items — the hand-embellished NFT print and the signed physical bat.
Both the NFT print and the physical bat will arrive signed and editioned by Matt Gondek. The total edition number of prints and bats will be dependent upon how many purchasers from the main collection drop decide to either hold onto their NFT (thus will receive the corresponding hand-embellished NFT print) or decide to burn their NFT (which means that they will instead receive the corresponding physical bat). Bats will additionally arrive with a physical certificate of authenticity. Shipping will be free of charge for both physical items. Pre-sale auction bidders are the only clients who are eligible to purchase all three items — the Fight Club NFT, the hand-embellished NFT print and the signed physical bat.
Please note: All winners must disclose a shipping address to Matt Gondek’s team for fulfillment. Delivery logistics will be coordinated by Matt Gondek’s team. Shipping will be free of charge for auction winners.
Each NFT in the collection will be available for a fixed price of $1,500.
During the first 24 hours of the Drop, on Thursday, September 8, minting will be available to a special allow list for a single purchase. After the initial 24-hour window, the remaining NFTs will be available to the general public (and Allow List members will be able to buy multiples).
NFT owners from the collection will have two mutually exclusive options for a physical redemption:
Send the NFT to a burn wallet and receive the corresponding handmade physical bat
Hold the NFT and receive a hand-embellished print which will be signed by Matt Gondek
Whether clients choose to receive the NFT print or the physical bat, both items will arrive signed and editioned by Matt Gondek.
