Chuma is a full-time studio artist creating ‘phygital’ art using technology. Fostering an identity, his themes are derived from the material & non-material aspects of Igbo culture – past & present. Ranging from wall mount to monumental dimensions, his works reimagines the age-long Igbo carved doors & ‘Uli‘ line aesthetic in patterns, fused with the body, in a spiritual performance between the abstract & figurative. Visually striking, his works are results of artistic experiments, creating at the intersection of physical and digital existence.
Kevin Katoto Kitenge, known as Kevin 3K, is a contemporary photographic artist (born in 1997 in Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of Congo). He lives and works in Lubumbashi, and loves drawing and painting, but his history with photography began at an early age, influenced by his father (Mwembo Kitenge), who was also a photographer in his company's communications department at the time. Kevin took numerous courses in photography and the visual arts. He studied design and multimedia. He is inspired by ancient paintings and his photographic approach is naturally influenced by his desire to tell stories through his pictures. For Kevin, art is a means of communication. It's a way of speaking without the need for words. His work reflects his thoughts and emotions. His creative journey began with drawing, but his path led him away from drawing. Finding a space for his creative practice, Kevin chose photography to express himself and tell stories. "It became a way of painting and drawing. By manipulating images, colors and light, Kevin began to create works that fall somewhere between painting and photography. Kevin's work highlights the cultural and ideological practices of African beauty, exploring issues of identity and self-perception, as well as the representation of real things that are not entirely grounded in reality. Ultimately, he wants his work to be an invitation to reflection and discovery. He wants people to see it as an open door to another world, where borders don't exist. In 2022, Kevin was one of six winners of one of the largest curation programs for African digital artists on the continent, "AFRICA HERE", organized by Nigerian artist Osinashi in collaboration with Marketplace, which enabled him and the other winners to be exhibited at the Scope Art Show Miami. Also in 2022 he was exhibited at the Amaldlozi gallery in Miami (USA) for the "First Frequency" exhibition, in 2023 his work was exhibited at one of the major Web3 events, "NFT TALLINN" in Estonia.
Osinachi (born Prince Jacon Osinachi Igwe) is a 31-year-old digital artist based in Lagos, Nigeria. The first crypto artist out of Africa, he has been in the NFT space for about five years now, making artworks that mirror his personal experiences through a unique visual language that he has perfected over 15 years.
In addition to numerous collaborations with big players in the art world, Osinachi auctioned five unique NFTs last year in Europe. The project, which was a three-way collaboration between him, Christie’s Europe, and 1-54 Art Fair, marked the first time the auction house would present NFTs in Europe, the first exhibition of NFTs at the art fair, and made Osinachi the first African to achieve such a feat, among other milestones.
More recently, he launched the widely successful pfp/avatar project Across the Face, which marked the first time we would see two NFT platforms form a partnership to launch a singular project.
