the Exhibit

Since Inktober’s inception nearly 15 years ago, this annual October art practice has served as both a means for individual creators to challenge their craftsmanship while connecting to artist communities committed to doing the same. 

In honor of this tradition and with aligned missions to empower independent artists, HUG and MakersPlace have partnered at the groundbreaking Nematic Gallery in California’s Carmel-by-the-Sea for their inaugural collaborative exhibition. Sourced from HUG’s international community of artists spanning 130+ countries and carefully curated by and on MakersPlace, this showcase highlights the beauty of black-and-white art amid the evolving social landscape and culture constantly being cultivated by digital natives.
