AI Metaverse: Where Imagination Meets Technology

AI artists are emerging as a new breed of creators who use machine learning to generate novel and often surprising works, challenging our perceptions of creativity with a powerfully augmented imagination paired with personal taste and vision. 

AI artists can create anything — from abstract digital art to realistic images and videos — and they often push the boundaries of traditional art forms. The artists in this exhibit are undoubtedly artists. They’re not merely churning out pretty pictures with a machine. The artists here use AI as a tool for finding new forms of expression, telling stories, and articulating what it means to be human using a tool that can aid with speed and technical acuity but cannot connect to the heart with a human at the helm.  

I chose the artists for the heart and intelligence of their work as much as I did for the beauty and novelty. My hope for the AI Metaverse is for it to have as much emotion and thoughtfulness as these works do.
