The truth is now; there is only this.
I like to see my work as a form of guided meditation. When I do meditation, I’ll often use an object like a plant or a candle, or something natural to center my attention. This filters out the mental noise that surrounds everyday perception and interaction. Traditionally, these kinds of objects are also used in meditation, as well as various other techniques, such as focusing on the breath, and using a mantra. I like for my work to become an object of meditation, allowing a person to sit with it, and become calm and to have a transformational experience.
