I believe it's people who bought it and thought they'd instantly flip it for 4-5x the price they paid and now they just want out. I think prices will pick up during training camp/preseason.

so if I remember right there were 4 pieces: Showtime, LIV Champion, 2018 MVP and The Sideways Spectacular which were all available for a fixed short amount of time (can't remember exactly how long but no more than 30 mins). After that then the Crown and Hail Mary were available but for them there was a fixed number of editions (50) so the window just stayed open until they were all sold -
I think it took about another half hour before all of them were gone so you had to be quick but as long as you were there at the right time then you could get one. There was also some special editions being auctioned over a longer time period. For the first 4 mentioned then the serial numbers were allocated on a first come first served basis so there was quite a rush at the beginning to get the low ones. I held back as it was my first one and I was observing things for a bit, plus as long as you applied within the window then you were guaranteed to get one. I did end up changing my mind from Showtime to LIV Champion as there was so much interest in Showtime. I think 2019 MVP probably ended up with the best cost / no. of editions ratio. As you would expect then the no. of buyers decreases as the cost of each piece increased.
Showtime - $2.5k - 256 editions minted
LIV Champion - $5k - 91 editions minted
2018 MVP - $7.5k - 56 editions minted
The Sideways Spectacular - $10k - 53 editions minted
So given the number of editions minted for the last 2 then I would expect their market price to be very similar in the long run as the supply is about the same, and then Showtime will stay the cheapest (as it has the most supply) with LIV being somewhere in the middle.

@Red, completely agree with you. Looking to hold for a long time, and definitely keeping at least one.

Question for you, how did the sale transpire anyway? I know there were 15(?) minute increments for each item, but was it on a first-come, first-served basis? Were there more people in line than the edition amount? How did you all get to pick the serial numbers?

Obviously, I was a day late to the party so just curious as to how the sales went down.
