More often than not, whether we like it or not, a problem or problems occur. It could be a bug or a lag, but in the process of fixing it, our humanity or the lack of it is inevitably revealed.
These moments, and even the happy ones are a major subject in Simon Wairiuko's spontaneous art pieces. It could simply be a screenshot of a lagging video with deformed shapes or it could be hazy sketches of people and places in their bizarre animated motions.
Having grown up in the Savannah of Sub-Saharan Africa, he owes a great deal of his inspiration from his repressed childhood memories.
