This gif is a tribute to the magnificent country of Singapore, to which I was invited as an international Gif-Artist for the first Gif-Art festival in Asia in 2017. For this work I was inspired by some of its most representative buildings, such as the Hotel Marina Bay or the incredible botanical garden, as well as other imaginary buildings that exemplify and unite part of the modern architecture of Singapore, its growth and flourishing as a prosperous country and with a wonderful future ahead. Water is also an important element since Singapore is very present, its gardens, islands and bays are impressive and its connection with the sea, navigation and maritime trade are part of its history. Vegetation is also very important and is also present. All this surrounds and dresses the central element, the protagonist, which is a fantasy factory of a national product, coconut jam. When I was at my hotel I went to breakfast and was very surprised to see a green cream next to the butter, the pate and other spreads, I asked and they told me what it was. Coconut jam. I love it. In my work the culinary is present and I have several works dedicated to food. But the coconut jam was a visual and gustatory crush at first sight. For this reason I created a factory that produces this wonderful product already spread on a slice by means of mechanical fantasy processes. To be later exported by sea in a pop ship around the world. And I do not forget the crab, a national gourmet gem that welcomes us very cool and comfortable reigning over the Marina Bay hotel. This gif is a sample of my fascination and love for a country full of lights, wonderful buildings, different foods and proud of itself. All this under my vision as an artist. I really had the feeling sometimes of walking through one of my own gifs, because its neons and lights felt like my own. This work belongs to my exclusive collection of Visual Toys, being the first and only one dedicated to a country has a special importance. Without a doubt this shows that visual communion that I lived in a few days between my Visual Toys and Singapore. Made just after my return, it was about 5 days of work based on my memories, which were recent and visually supporting me in the photos I took during my stay. Made with digital tablet in Photoshop and animated in After Effects. For the first time it is on sale in a single edition. ------ More about the international awards, exhibitions and the work of Javier Arrés Visit: https://javierarres.com/about.html
