In this comic I wanted to use some idea from my real life where both Pinky and Spiky could be present. Then I thought about what happened yesterday? Of course, I was sitting in a boring meeting. Nothing exciting since Ausra wasn't there.
What was Ausra doing? She was teaching at school. Wait a minute... I remembered how she drove me with her car and just before I went to the church to practice playing the organ she said that she was glad I drove with her in the car. This was such a sweet moment but I couldn't remember anything that I said to her that was funny. And I needed a punchline, an element of surprise. Where reader would expect one answer and you would give them completely different one. This is what gets a laugh.
For some reason I decided this comic should be portrait oriented. So I drew Pinky telling her line and below her stood Spiky. Then I remembered how we used to joke about dogs waiting for their owners in the car with the windows open a little bit so they could breathe. Spiky then said: "Open a window for me and I'll wait for you in the car." This seemed funny to me.
Do you also think so too? Not necessarily though because one thing which is funny to me might not be funny to you at all. It might be lame. It might be pathetic. It might be silly. But... silliness sometimes is funny too, isn't it?
So then I only needed to add some background. What could be behind Pinky? Of course her black Imprezza! Oh and some woods in the distance too. My comic was finished and I only needed to color it in at home.
