A particular engineer proposed a design intended to roam the desert probing for new natural resources as humanity progresses into a resource depleted dystopia. The sponsors had other ideas entirely on what they wanted to do with 'DZT-0341' ranging from general military purposes to a new kind of land soldier in tandem with resource scavenging to assist nearby platoons.

Not to the engineers' surprise at all, they overheard these ulterior agendas and snapped. Although aware of all the negative possibilities and potential abuse of usage they never fully accepted just what was playing out in reality.

An abuse clause was programmed into DZT-0341 that when/if this machine takes human life it runs an error sequence "looking for a face" Throwing the machine into a psychotic episode endlessly searching for a face that will never fit. That particular engineer figured, "If they abuse it, make it human..."

--BreakDown--
The robots' design was inspired by a kind fantasy creature with odd limbs and looongg proportions to enable quick speeds over long distances. The base was sculpted/modeled in Zbrush and exported over to Marvelous Designer where cloth draping was added to create a 'lost in the desert' ragged bedouin aesthetic and later textured in SubstancePainter.

Human model was posed in Daz3D and exported to C4D for the final render along with some blood decals and another body laying on the ground. Rendered in Octane C4D @ PathTracing 500 samples and post comped in After Effects.

I thought it may have been a giant walking turtle at first. Scary enough but then a robot having a psychotic episode would be even scarier ~ Although if looking for a face that never fitted stopped the senseless killing, he may not have been quite so scary. Love the ending of the story as told to Indrani. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎
