Description:

A work of art, not unlike life itself, has so many variables to consider, it is sometimes a challenge to begin. This may be especially true for those with analytical minds. Overthinking a challenge can lead to indecision or inaction, hence the old adminishment, "Do something, even if it's wrong!"

A work of art, not unlike life itself, has so many variables to consider, it is sometimes a challenge to begin. This may be especially true for those with analytical minds. Overthinking a challenge can lead to indecision or inaction, hence the old adminishment, "Do something, even if it's wrong!"

"Pondering..." was created as a tribute to those of us often held captive by all the variables we feel compelled to consider. It was created as a poster, in my mind a movie poster, symbolizing the drama we bring to our own lives- the drama we create in our anguish over the decisions we must make - even when our decisions aren't really that important.

The image is a photo manipulation of a portrait, which was distorted and edited, processed through a deep dream filter, then edited again, mainly to increase contrast and saturation.

If you study the image's details, you will see the portrait replicated at least 3 times, and other symbols of God, man, and nature. You may even see a face or two that were gifts of the deep dream generator. While I consider almost all of my work to be "glitch aesthetic," including this one, this particular piece incorporates a minimal amount of glitch with a result that may also be considered pop surrealism.

To me, it has always looked like a 1930's movie poster for a modern sci-fi movie. "Pondering..." has been one of my favorite pieces since it was created. It has never been exhibited or published for collecting in any format before and I am proud to share it with the collectors of Makers Place.
