Native American Indians said that the South Wind had fallen in love with a very beautiful golden-haired maid, yet she was too lazy to woo her and just watched her every day while she smelled the flowers under the shade of a tree.

He waited so long to be reciprocated that one day he noticed that the woman's golden hair had turned gray.

At first he thought it was a frost-covered ice set by the tricky northern wind. But then he realized that the young woman had aged and thus missed the opportunity to love.

When the woman died the great spirit transformed her body into a dandelion flower.
