Life is glass and we are the light, piercing the chaotic translucence that the water within us comprises. We refract off of each molecule knowing not of where we will end up, repeating errors in the idea of time. Digressing from the original plan of following a life initially desired, we will have to conclude the one we are living right now with contentment in order to transcend it.
This piece is based on my interpretation of transcendence, a concept I've troubled myself with for years. I used to meditate while listening to Alan Watts and Terence McKenna lectures in hopes of learning some string of wisdom that no one else knows. Alan Watts once said "the only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance." I've incorporated this sudden dance with the inclusion of a spiral staircase. A spiral staircase is this sort of vessel that gets you from one level to the next while maintaining it's visual movement and, at the same time, remaining still to allow you to do what you are already fully capable of, which is to ascend to higher realities. The golden chair is to signify familiarity on the lower level of your perception of reality. On this lower level, distractions and conventional comforts will entice people to stay put and not allow them to really explore what it means to be themselves, until they get up and walk the stairs. On the upper level you have a mirror. This mirror represents facing who you are on the macro instead of the micro. The reflections of the curved dome above the light being are specifically curved because they compress the light around you into a unified point, like a black hole. This shows that on the upper level of transcendence, instead of looking around myopically for a vision at what reality is to you, it is instead a singularity of easily comprehendible information, no matter the complexity. The polarity of simplicity and complexity are erased and you find out what it really means to be here and now.
