THE DROP
Dating back to 1951, Inkas the Ramferinkas was the Sherman Brothers’ first foray into family entertainment but it certainly wouldn’t be their last. In subsequent decades the Sherman Brothers would win Oscars, Grammys, dozens of Gold and Platinum records and a National Medal of Arts awarded by the President of the United States. Still it wasn’t until near the end of the Sherman Brothers’ collective careers that Bob Sherman’s son, Robert J. Sherman (“Robbie”) would approach his father and uncle with the idea of recreating Inkas as a feature-length, animated motion picture. The Sherman Brothers’ original story was expanded into a full-length screenplay with additional songs written to augment the musical score. A team of Oscar, Emmy, BAFTA, Grammy, Tony and Annie Award winners was assembled to design and give voice to the various characters who inhabit Inkas’s world. Then an 81 minute, animatic, "storyboard reel" was created containing these unique hand drawn images now available as NFTs. 70 YEARS IN THE MAKING…INKAS WAS THE FIRST AND WILL NOW ALSO BE THE FINAL SHERMAN BROTHERS ANIMATED MUSICAL EVER MADE!!!
