I chose this angle for it's scale. The difference between the profound coast and sliver of modern life in cars passing by. To my surprise a plane entered the frame and created a ghost like streak into the great blue sky. This feels otherworldly to me and speaks to the immensity of the natural world. Long exposure, shot on 35mm film, scanned and digitized.
Hawaii is known for its natural splendor and bright tropical colors, however I was interested in a different view. I wanted to see what I couldn't see everyday, the spirit of the Islands so to speak. For months I would explore the East of Oahu at night to experience the language of moonlight and discover a powerful silent presence. From a series called LAND SEA MOON
