I am curious about the natural world and how the human relationship with nature has evolved. I'm particularly interested in plants and botany. As a visual storyteller I'm also viewing the world through an odd shaped glass. There is a fine line between beauty and something more surreal that taps into horror and nightmares and I think I'm often hovering around this and exploring it visually in different ways. I find collage and digital painting a great medium for doing this and experimenting yeilds some unpredictable and amazing results.
I like to make stark, bold portraits that leave you wondering. I always make work using digital collage and painting. Dark and light crossing paths. I am fascinated by strange things and love the work of other creatives who are not afraid to explore the dark, surreal, bizarre, eccentric and brooding aspects of life. My collages are very carefully combined with digital painting to give a refined look and colouration is really important to me.
