Hi Skip, just a quick thank you to say everything came through yesterday :) Didn't realise you also have your own website where I can buy hardcopy prints, mugs and blankets of same artwork I have just bought. That's a great idea. I will have a look through in detail. Cheers and thanks once again :)

Hi Skip, thanks for the heads up, and just really sorry (for you) that everything is such a pain. The only positive (if one could say that) is you're not the only one, which with safety in numbers, it might gain some traction and they will resolve sooner rather than later! As for the other picture, I will 'up' my bid, should it just be a single edition.. I will just leave it with you to hopefully message me when this gets resolved. You deserve to get your work onboard, and selling, so I hope it goes well for you on this site- not good for artists, and buyers will migrate over to other sites, so longterm Makersplace will also lose out. Any way take care and may the forces of goid be with you, Peter

Blimey Skip, they soon forget who put them there in the first place and now they're making Artists like you pay for it. Please let me know if you would like me to 'up' my bid on your Naum creation to cover any loss on your part, I always like to be on the right side and times are difficult for most folk. Just say :)

I got more feedback from the Makersplace Discord channel. It appears others say it can take days. There's also a small possibility that I have to pay some fee to complete the sale (which seems insane to me) but their documentation doesn't say anything about that. It would be pretty lame if artists have to pay a fee to list their art AND pay a fee to accept an offer.

Rest assured. I'll stay on them until it's sorted out. :)

This is just more speculation... but I don't think any of these platforms were prepared for ETH gas fees to go through the roof. Originally, Makersplace wasn't charging the artists anything to put their work on the platform. I believe they were trying to build up the catalogue and that eventually their business model was to profit from nominal fees to the artists to have their work on the platform and charge transaction fees, etc.

Now, the fees are pretty much untenable for most artists. Many of the ETH-based platforms are charging artists nearly $300 (the highest I've seen) just to mint their work as an NFT (I think it's currently around $80), then charge gas fees also for any change... even charging for rejecting an offer, accepting an offer, and even to change the currency accepted.

I've actually started looking at non-ETH platforms instead that have fees more in the pennies vs dollars.

That said, it is expected that all these fees will go waaaay down and most will not even be charged at some point.

It's all pretty much the Wild West at the moment though.

Hi Skip, it's most kind of you to accept my offer. I don't really have any one-offs, so really looking forward to that. Thank you so much :) Yes, entirely agree with you on the whole Beeple thing. I don't agree with the 'buy to resell' thing, as it inflates the price for genuine art lovers, like myself, and the Artist also loses out. Take your Ganga Dream for instance, I would rather cut off my right arm than ever contemplate selling. I love the provenance and tale you kindly regaled. That's what makes Art into something living and breathing. Emotional attachment makes things priceless in my estimation. I only called myself Samurai Jack, because I thought when I signed up you had to create youself an Alias. The Samurai bit was easy, as I practice Martial Arts, but the Jack component, I have no idea. I am called Peter however, but I didn't have the right to give myself that esteemed title of old :) Well, we will just hold on in there :) Cheers, Peter

Hi Skip, appreciating we are of course in different time zones, but just thought I should let you know that (overnight for me), it's still a pending sale. In the meantime, I put through another bid, but obviously this process will first need to be resolved :)

Hi Jack, it's still showing "pending acceptance" for me too. I sent another message to makersplace support via their Discord channel. I saw your other offer. I haven't accepted it because... one, once I sell one in the edition, I have to pay the "gas" to publish the second edition. So, I'm not sure if I'll do that and I might just sell this first edition for now. Meaning... I might need to get a little more for it.

Second, I don't feel comfortable accepting any more offers from anyone else until Makersplace resolves this. I take great pride in my work and my own customer service... and Makersplace taking this long to address this is unacceptable.

I see others are having the same issue. I'm told they're working on it, but for now I'm going to sit tight until I know the kinks are worked out. I'm going to go ahead and reject the current offer... but if you really want that one... knowing that I won't likely be releasing another edition anytime soon... and if want to get the 1st and only for now... feel free to counter the offer. :)

That said... if you want to make sure this stuff gets sorted out first, I completely understand!

The technology thing can be a bit complicated :) I didn't want to be a mither, but glad this highlighted things. By the way, do you know of a good wallet I can store my art work on? Because I paid by credit card, I was set up automatically with a wallet by Makers place, but I'm just not sure long-term whether this is the best thing, say in case they ever shut their site down. I have no idea whether my wallet would be safe at that point. Also, if on a different wallet, whether I could then still look at my collection? No worries if you not sure :)

Well, I got a message from a Makersplace Admin who said the tech team would take care of the links not going through. So, it should be taken care of... hopefully soon! :)

Cheers for the heads up, that's really helpful of you :) I will just keep crossing my fingers on the transaction. Hopefully Makersplace will be able to guide you through the process, as I guess you'll need to get sorted for selling any future creations. I love what you do. Trying to remain optimistic :)

Cheers Skip, it seems to have taken longer than normal, but no worries. Partly compounded with my over-excitement :)

I’m new to this too. I don’t see anything else for me to “accept”but I noticed I didn’t have my coinbase wallet set to receive and I didn’t have my PayPal account connected. I just set it to receive and connected PayPal. I already sent makersplace a support email too.

Hi Skip, this creation and the Dragon are both still down as 'pending acceptance'. I bought a piece of work from another artist last night, but that came through. Being a newbe to this site, I'm not sure if it takes longer for things to process over the weeoend?

I am really touched and humbled. This picture really does paint a 1,000 words. It conveys such inner peace. Not many people or places on earth purvey this in such a perfect way. You have a real gift, a God given gift. Blessings upon you.

The image is just so magnetic to me. I do practice Yoga and Tai Chi, so I guess it somehow resonates on a special wavelength.

You’re very kind!

I would say there’s no other place on earth 🌏 quite like Varanasi. It’s strange how this image transports you there. Not just to this place, but also to the state on mind.

As I recall, I was on a small rowboat for sunset. As the boat was being rowed at a pretty good clip... I only got one shot.

It was reported to me that it was used (without my permission) as a source for a painting in New Delhi embassy. I have not seen it myself though.

Just as a side note... when I made this image along the ghats of Varanasi, it was shortly after 9/11.

George Harrison made one last trip to Varanasi for 2 weeks before he returned to the U.S. and passed away. I was there during that same 2 weeks. I got held up because they'd cancelled most flights to Kathmandu, so I just hung out waiting 2 weeks for a flight.

I don't know who is under the shroud... but, who knows? :)
