Over the summer I was sharing a flat with a woman who suffers from anorexia. Every morning I would bring breakfast, but she always declined. Over the course of the day however, she would hastily sneak into the kitchen and break pieces off of the pretzels. She didn’t want to be seen eating.

In this tense, impulsive state, there was no time for methodical acting, so I noticed that every day a different piece of the pretzel was missing.


I captured this tragically wonderful randomness over the course of a month.

She had a good laugh when I showed her the final piece.
