As god of the underworld, Airon offers a double aspect, positive and negative, which is equivalent to the heads and tails of the same coin. In his positive aspect, Airon is the god of life, since water (source of life) and vegetation emerge from the underworld. In its negative aspect, Airon appears to us as the god of death, since the underworld was the place where it was considered - in pre-Christian religions - that the souls of the dead went, both those who had led an exemplary life and those who had committed the most serious crimes, although, once in the underworld, everyone was treated differently according to their deeds in this life. The well of inexhaustible water or the unfathomable lagoon is in reality a metaphor that signifies the channel that communicates the underworld -or world of the dead from where one cannot leave- with the earth inhabited by men and with the sky where the gods were supposed to dwell.

Thought provoking. Loved the description. It gives me vibe of stories of my grand parents. The good and bad, evil and angels ✨
