Wineglass bay never disappoints, even with a 2hr uphill hike.

The only thing better than this view, a glass of wine and a warm meal while enjoying the views around the Freycient National Park.

So, how did it get its name? The bay has a much darker history than you'd expect. Sailers who explored the area for 20 years engaged in the harpooning of whales, dragging them to the shore to use the blubber for oil and the bone for corsets.

The crystal blue waters turned red with blood giving the bay a rich red wine colour, and so the the iconic name evolved.
