About Javier Arrés:
Javier Arrés is a world-renowned motion / GIF artist and a 2019 London Art Biennale winner. Inspired by the sweeping views from his childhood home overlooking his hometown of Motril, Spain, Arrés is known for his manically-detailed illustrations of fantastical scenery from cities, architecture and machines. He further brings these worlds to life through what he calls “Visual Toys”. “Bitcoin Chronicles: 2017” visually narrates the most significant moments of 2017, a pivotal bull run year for Bitcoin. In one corner, a strange fluid divides Bitcoin into Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash, representing the Bitcoin Cash hard fork. As you can see in the work, Bitcoin makes its way down the roller coaster until it reaches an entrance of a Japanese-style building that It is also a vending machine for a strange and unknown Japanese product, which falls after being purchased with Bitcoin. This part of the work narrates another important moment in2017 of Bitcoin's history, and that is that Japan accepts Bitcoin as a form of payment. There are other moments included...
