The Sombrero Galaxy also known as Messier 104 is a special elliptical galaxy between the constellations of Corvus and Virgo. It has a mass of about 800 billion Suns, this makes Sombrero Galaxy one of the most massive objects in the Virgo Galaxy Cluster where it is located in.

Due to its resemblance to a Mexican Hat with its unusually large central bulge and prominent dust lanes in its outer disk was named as Sombrero Galaxy.

Its diameter is 49.000 light-years and contains several hundred billion stars in it.

This photo was shot using remote access 24 inches mirrored telescope located in Chile using four different filters with a monochrome CCD sensor to create an LRGB image. L stands for Luminance while R, G, and B stand for Red Green Blue channels. Luminance channel is used in astrophotography widely with galaxy shooting and it is the brightness information collected from the deep space object.
