It took a while before the three faced, hooded figure appeared out of the random scribble. I was first reminded of the Fates - The Moirai, from myths of the ancient Greece, who controlled the thread of life of every person. I was further inspired upon reading of the many other trinity goddesses of ancient times like Hecate, whose three aspects can be associated with the phases of the moon, and the modern idea of the Triple Goddess who contain the idea of the maiden, the mother and the crane. I returned to this drawing after letting it rest for few years, as there were few things bothering me - the mystery behind it's ghostly appearance not the least of them.

For me the hands reflect the three-foldness of the Apparition: The hand of the young maiden on the left merging with the hand of the old but wise crone on the right. And then the figure in the middle has a sense of rounded maturity and uprightness of the mother. ⚖️⚖️🦋⚖️⚖️
