The fog was thick---thick as a chunk of cheesecake. And it rolled and billowed, like a sheet, miles high, hung on a clothes-line in the upper atmosphere.

And I sat in the parking lot, watching the ebb and sway of this misty morning Earthbound cloud---until I saw IT come shambling out of the grey. I thought my eyes were tricking me, tired and telling lies, but for the reddish glow of the creatures eyes...

I started the car---the creature wasn't moving fast, a sleepwalker out for a stroll across the wet pavement---and I drove away...wanting to stop for a donut, but thinking it unwise to dawdle on this particular morning...
