This artwork is based on several photos of jellyfish and clocks that have been blended using various techniques. The image was created with the thought in mind to illustrate the contrast between our brain and the way we think, when we are asleep as opposed to when we are awake. When dreaming, the limbic system shows heightened activity, whereas some parts of the frontal lobes are the least active, which also helps to understand how we can be so uncritical in our sleep, and perceive even the craziest dreams as if they were real.

The geometric patterns with clear edges in the bottom half of the image represent patterns that the rational part of our brain likes to use to make sense of its environment. In contrast, in the dreaming upper half of the image, these rational layers are peeled off to unveil our subconscious.
