Inspired by Olympia (Olimpia in the German text) from E.T.A. Hoffmann's short story "The Sandman". The digital artwork is based on a pencil drawing on glass.
After the initial work on the digital version of the figure, the artwork developed a life of its own, and I was largely guided by my subconscious. Step by step Hoffmann's automata theme mixed with memories and impressions from my surroundings. The result is a slightly absurd episode as it might happen to "Prepare for Takeoff" in a surreal parallel world.
