Four years ago today, I released my first image to ever garner community-wide attention.
Bitcoin was trading at a kingly sum of $903, but at the same time its crypto market share was plummeting relative to the altcoins that were rising up to focus on areas that Bitcoin did not. (From near 95% market share it would eventually drop down to the 50-60% range where it is nowadays.)
The Bitcoin Gingerbread Man was my little commentary on that moment, and for the next year or so it was the one illustration that people in the Bitcoin community knew me for. I would occasionally visit San Francisco and see people wearing shirts with the Bitcoin Gingerbread Man on it, which was probably when I first realized that I might be on to something with this whole cryptoart side gig.
I'm offering it here now as an NFT because it's an artifact of a different time. NFTs didnt yet exist then but the Gingerbread Man lived on in people's t-shirt drawers and sticker collections ... at least until today!
