This is the third and final original illustration of a piece I did for the H.P. Lovecraft trading card set by MONSTERWAX...uncut, unmarred by logos.
It was one of their "foil embossed" cards and was all chome-ish shiny and fancy. Which looked very cool, but at 2x3 inches with foil stamping...it's pretty tough to soak in all the detail. Detail I painstakingly inked by had with a brush ( because I hate myself apparently) . Looking back on this now that my eyes don't hurt, it turned out pretty well, I'd say.
I almost talked myself out of the double lines on the air tube and hieroglyphics, but I'm glad I didn't. It all added a little bit more charm and depth.
Also, the look on Cthulhu's face cracks me up.
