ALL CHAIRS ARE ONE CHAIR. So observed Plato. Chair then implies the infinite form of a single entity. If we were to task an AI with cataloging the infinite modes of chair, we might encounter an output of all possible chairs, perhaps finally arriving at a psychology of that entity, not the chair, but the AI itself, in which infinite possibility takes precedence over the actual and an exponentially small percentage of chair conforms to actual human needs. Helmut Breineder—human—explores furniture from the opposite direction: imagining how AI capability has influenced human generation of our own cohabitating objects, arriving at the fluidity of furniture searching for itself and attempting to hold its own form.

Smart houses require smart people, otherwise they might have no use for us at all. What happens when our furniture is smarter than we are. We may find them sitting in for us and declaring, THIS IS NOT A CHAIR.
