A little bit about me and Eye of Nature.

My name is Matthias Edling and I am an electrician from Sweden, I decided for a big life change after falling in love with diving on a family vacation in Mabul 2012, so in 2015, I moved to Asia to start my diving career. I started off as an Open Water Scuba Instructor, When I was not busy with courses or otherwise occupied, I then took my camera out for a dive and discovered my new passion, Underwater photography.

As a self-taught Photographer / Videographer I started Eye of Nature in sole purpose to show people animals, creatures and critters and everything in between from all over the world. Especially show them up nice and close since most people did not even know that they existed or what they are and if they are in danger or not. By posting my experience and everything that I get to see, I hope to spread the awareness of the many dangerous side effects that we humans have on our planet and especially our oceans.

While previously working on Mermaid Liveaboard I was in the most biodiverse place on earth and in the smackdown middle of the coral triangle, Raja Ampat and Komodo National Park. There I noticed how much of a difference I could make with just spreading the news as far as I can reach. Simple things about how to best protect our oceans and everything that calls it home by doing small things straight from the comfort of your own home.

The gear I am using is:
YSD2 Sea&Sea Strobes

Olympus OMD-EM5 Mark ii, wide and macro

Big Blue VL9000 Video lights

Dji Mavic 2 Pro
