Nordic Spring

About
the Exhibit

Nordic Spring is a collection that celebrates the beauty of spring through the lenses of four acclaimed Scandinavian artists, two Danish and two Norwegian.

The collection features an impressive range of mediums and styles, including photography, digital painting, and oil painting. Each piece captures the essence of Spring in the Nordic region, where the long, dark winter ultimately gives way to the emergence of new life, and the landscape is thoroughly transformed by longer and brighter days.

About noCreative

Hailing from Copenhagen, Denmark, Kristian Levin, also known as noCreative, has made a name for himself in the world of digital art with his striking and highly detailed 3D cloth and interior/environment work. With over 15 years of experience in various creative disciplines, Levin skillfully merges architectural spaces and textiles to create awe-inspiring visual landscapes.

Growing up, Levin's creativity was nurtured by his family, and his passion for art and culture was ignited by his aunt's museum visits. Eventually, he would find his niche in surrealism, leading him to develop his unique artistic style. His process begins by exploring architectural styles, often inspired by Danish churches, before moving on to lighting and cloth creation using wind simulations in Houdini, which results in the captivating randomness that defines his work.

In late 2020, Levin delved into the NFT scene, where he has since become a thought leader, artist, collector, and curator. His work has been exhibited at venues worldwide, and he has curated drops on MakersPlace, SuperRare in association with NEAL, and Nifty Gateway. A founding member of BLOOM, Levin's artwork prices range between 3 - 5 ETH, with an all-time high sale of 5 ETH ($21,000) on SuperRare's secondary market. In 2021, his total sales volume reached 40 ETH, boasting a growing collector base of over 70 unique wallets.

About Arne Spangereid

Born in 1981 in Norway, Arne Spangereid is a celebrated artist known for his intriguing fusion of classical techniques and modern expressions. By blending old masters, impressionism, and cartoon art, Spangereid crafts playful interior scenes featuring unconventional elements like robots and rubber toys.

Attracted to contrasts and paradoxes, Spangereid employs delicate brush techniques alongside rough tools, such as squeegees and rubber spatulas. By juxtaposing abstract elements with descriptive passages, he creates visually engaging artworks that resonate with life's complexities and meaning.

Spangereid's artistic journey includes training under master oil painter Nelson Shanks in the United States, portrait painter Truls Dahl in Norway, and artist and museum curator Ray Spiteri in Malta. His international experiences have shaped his unique style, which seamlessly combines abstraction and realism.

Originally inspired by cityscapes, Spangereid spent years capturing the streets of Oslo and New York. In 2022, his life took an unexpected turn, and he found himself immersed in a world of baby toys and cartoon figures, giving rise to his "Disruption" series. These interior scenes play with contrasts between seriousness and playfulness, inviting viewers to become co-creators in the storytelling process.

With exhibits in Norway, the United States, and beyond, Arne Spangereid's captivating art continues to delight and intrigue audiences. He currently lives and works in Kristiansand and is represented by Galleri Ramfjord in Oslo, Norway.

About Maria Fynsk Norup

Maria Fynsk Norup, an award-winning fine art photographer, finds her sanctuary on the enchanting island of Aro in the southernmost part of Denmark. Through self-portraiture, Maria weaves narratives exploring femininity, the human-nature connection, and the melancholy of existence. Drawing inspiration from dreams, emotions, and past experiences, her work resonates with a hauntingly dark undertone.

Originally trained in classical botany, Maria's passion for the plant world is interwoven into her visual storytelling. As she delves into her creative practice, she often starts with vivid dreams, dark fears, and old memories, using photography as a means of self-exploration and emotional expression. Her work pays homage to a diverse range of artistic influences, from the chiaroscuro of Caravaggio and Titian to the soft light and color palette of William Hammershoi, and the nature-filled storytelling of the Pre-Raphaelites.

Maria's artistic journey has garnered her several international accolades, and her captivating images have been showcased in prestigious venues, such as Le Grand Palais Éphémère in Paris during NFT Paris in February 2023. Continually pushing boundaries, she embraces both the beautiful and the ugly in her work, finding inspiration in contemporary artists like Anja Niemi, Trine Sondergaard, Maria Rubinke, and Brooke Shaden. With a deep love for post-processing, Maria uses tools like Lightroom and Photoshop as her "magic boxes" to amplify the mood and emotion of her projects. In Maria Fynsk Norup's world, photography is a gateway to self-discovery and a celebration of life's complexities.

About Kesja Tabaczuk

Kesja Tabaczuk, born in Opole, Poland, and currently residing in Oslo, Norway, has been passionate about drawing and painting since childhood. At the age of 12, she joined an art school in Opole, excelling in drawing and painting. After three years, she continued her studies in OSSP high school, where she learned various painting techniques, design, sculptures, and art history. This education significantly influenced her later works.

Upon graduating high school with the first prize for painting of the year, 18-year-old Kesja applied and was accepted into the University of Art in Poland. However, she decided not to follow the path of a contemporary artist, opting instead to pursue her passion for painting and self-educate.

Kesja employs various techniques in her artwork, tailoring her approach based on the message she wishes to convey. She aims to showcase the beauty of people and the world through her art, drawing inspiration from the world around her and previous great artists. Primarily focused on portraiture and figurative painting, Kesja has spent years working with oil paint, her favorite medium. Her love for realism is evident in her paintings, demonstrated through her compositions of lines, shapes, values, and textures.
