Previously known as the Moon, it is now a mere orphan satellite of a once full-of-life planet caught unexpectedly in the trajectory of a rogue interstellar asteroid. The apocalyptic collision destroyed Earth and threw the orphan into a new orbit. Its fate is unknowable, for there is now no one left to speculate about it. This would all be sad, but there is no one left to feel such a thing. Humanity is gone, and its more or less 200 000 years of existence will go unnoticed by an indifferent universe.

Ah, the existential void, the chaotic randomness. I love this moon looking like it could have been made with green cheese after all! And the layers of the clouds/debris/remnants...I won’t tell you what I can see, but pure magic as usual! Love it.

What a shame that there's no-one left to see and love this beautiful orphan moon. But wait. Maybe there is. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎

Well.. humanity and individual.. it is interesting that our mind tells us we are important but in a greater context ..we come and go and when we do it is but a blip..your words remind me of an episode of the new cosmos where deGrasse Tyson shows how one year stands up in context of the universe forming.. and how someone you see laughing and talking today just is not there tomorrow .. I got philosophical and then real life caught on and I got involved with "I am hungry" and " are we there yet"?..

The orphan makes me sad but with the hope that spinning around it will find a home ultimately - somewhere ,where it will be the center of a small world :)

What a wonderful, hypnotic work, I admire that ability to create these environments of reflection with so few elements. The synthesis that introduces us to a deep complexity. You always leave me speechless and remain in contemplation of an exceptional artistic creation. What art! How much creativity! Thank you for giving us so much.
