Growing up me and my family was moving towns a lot. But there was one other town, one other place that always stayed the same, Springfield. The Simpsons are many things, funny and well written, ahead of its time, and a historical phenomenon. But what I love the most is how unexpectedly cinematic and atmospheric classic Simpsons were, in between all of the jokes and gags and bright characters there are quick shots of environments and close-ups, pure world-building that expands my idea of what Springfield can actually look like.
Fast forward it's been over 20 years since Simpson's peak. There is a whole community of fans just like me who hold a special place in their hearts for all things classic Simpsons the phenomenon of the Simpsons Wave is surprisingly huge. This is when I discovered scenic_simpsons (on Instagram) some of my favorite Simpsons moments isolated in a single cinematic frame.
It's so easy to look at these frames and imagine the whole world outside. Naturally, I recreated some of my favorites. Slightly animating these little moments and adding an original soundtrack to each, inspired by Simpsons wave music style. Had to do a deep dive into film emulation to add even more nostalgia to the mix.

The original shot is Season 6, episode 12 around 2 min 23 sec.
