Where is everyone? Why can't anyone else out there find us? There's no way we are alone. Or maybe because they're just too far away from us, that our modern machines are not strong enough to see any evidence of them, that the signals they sent remain undetectable to us. I can just conclude that "we're alone, and that's that," but I'm not the one who has traveled throughout the universe to figure that out. And to answer the question "why haven't they reached out?"—maybe we are not alone; we are just irrelevant, not advanced enough for them to care. But here we are, wanting to learn more about their existence when they probably don't even care about us. Or is it the opposite, that they're probably watching us right now? Or perhaps, believing that there are civilizations out there doesn't matter now, because they've probably died before ours dawned, or maybe we humans arrived into existence too early and their signs of life are just billions of years late. Are we the first intelligent life in the universe? I mean, there has to be a first, right? Maybe the Universe found a way to make us humans the First (or the Last), but that doesn't mean we are alone. Where is everyone?
