Anybody familiar with graffiti culture needs no introduction to Claudia "Claw Money" Gold. One of the world’s most prolific graffiti ambassadors, Claw earned her stripes in a subculture historically dominated by men. Since 1989, her CLAW logo has been a rally cry for fierceness, and it has forged its intangible mark into the fabric of New York City. Its notoriety enabled Claw to parlay her street cred into countless collaborations with the likes of Nike, NASCAR, and Calvin Klein – making her the first woman to do so! Claw recently worked with Topps on Project70, releasing 19 customized baseball cards to mark their 70 years in baseball tradeables. On top of her multitude of collaborations, Claw has her own eponymous fashion line. Rocked by the likes of Rihanna and Kendrick Lamar, the line celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2022 – another huge feat!
Claw’s career to date would lead anyone to believe that it is her main focus; however, her strongest desire is to inspire the trailblazing women of tomorrow. Her mission is to support and mentor young female artists and entrepreneurs. Her PMS graffiti crew has enabled her to do so, making a global mark on the culture. Claw will also be featuring twenty women-led collaborations in 2022, to celebrate Claw#20. From bespoke jewelry, to limited-edition skateboards, to graffiti supplies, Claw Money won’t disappoint, in perpetuity, forever – in all dimensions.
Claw has made a significant impact in every arena she has stepped foot into, and she cannot wait to step into the metaverse with MakersPlace. Having been a multimedia artist for 25+ years, Claw looks forward to making a mark in NFTs, with a unique, humorous, and inspiring base of works that we are used to seeing both in the streets and in her infamous memes.
