Part of Andy Bauch's New Money series, 'Dogecoin, Initially Valued at $10' explores the relationship between tangible and intangible assets through cryptocurrency-embedded LEGO artworks.

Beginning with a physical artwork made from 15,045 LEGO pieces, a generative gradient was produced to include cryptographically embedded $DOGE. The press surrounding the New Money series, from the likes of Vice, Highsnobiety and Gizmodo, led to a global puzzle competition and many of the pieces were solved, including this one.

The rise of NFTs presented an opportunity to dive digitally further into the subject matter. Bauch collaborates with the heralded motion artist Eric Jordan, fully digitizing the piece and setting the thousands of LEGO pieces in motion to custom sound design. The animation reveals clues of where and how the crypto was embedded into the piece.

Bringing the interplay of tangible and intangible - physical and digital - full circle, each purchase of this edition also unlocks a 24" x 18" AR-powered limited edition print. Powered by the augmented reality of arthouse.ar (no app required), the physical print reveals the motion art, along with additional exclusive digital layers.
