I arrived at the local fresh fish outdoor market in Bangkok at 6am one morning to buy props for that day’s studio shoot. My Kenyan model, the inimitable Laurine Akinyi, would need to wear these smelly fish for an hour as we ran through various poses.

Southeast Asia’s renowned stylist, the Norwegian-born Hilde Marie Johansen, used a body painting design that mimicked the natural circular patterns on the fish. Then she draped these now odorous creatures across the model’s chest using giant fishhooks attached to a heavy metal chain necklace.

From my Tribal Wild Collection of body-painted models photographed in my Bangkok studio. Featuring stylized tribal body designs and authentic accessories, this series focuses on capturing the passion of highly professional, wild-driven models.
