Mountain Dwarf

Kimathi Stormhollow was a miner from the small backwater mountain dwarf Stormhollow Clan. Blessed with extraordinary strength, young Kimathi was a “John Henry” of the mines, joyfully toiling in the earth’s depths with his kin. His father, Voltaire, a hobbled old Gold dwarf with a veiled past, bought his way into the clan and reluctantly trained his son in the fighting arts. His mother, Tamil, is one of the Stormhollow Hearth Guards, a group of female dwarf rangers who traverse the mountains on bighorn sheep to protect the clan from threats from the wild. She teaches Kimathi her mounted combatant skills.

An evil sorcerer had been extorting the clan for decades and when he sent his “hill giant” muscle to exact retribution for the Hearth Guards harassing his agents, Kimathi single handedly repulsed the attack, earning local folk hero status.

When chosen by the clan to investigate the validity of Dragon Cult rumors, he is convinced that his physical might will be more than enough to face any challenge. He is mistaken.

After encountering dark magic and dreadful curses in the War of Dragons with his new stalwart companions, the Knights Of Firewatch, Kimathi finds religion and turns to Ullaa, the dwarven goddess of miners & the forge. Ullaa’s blessing enables him to buff weapons and forge dragon scale armor in the fight to repulse the cult and save his beloved Stormhollow. He has in his possession the powerful ‘Dragonspear’ of dwarven lore that has helped him fell several great Wyrms including Arathator (whose tooth is now affixed to its blade), and Chuth (whose brain Kimathi ATE imbuing him with a limited ‘dragon fear’ ability). His mount is the faithful Brago, a rugged polar bear he tamed in his travels.

In the aftermath of the War of Dragons, Kimathi came home a hero, but as he returned to the mines he once loved he felt empty and haunted by the memory of the horrors he had borne witness to. And so he struck out again for adventure, or perhaps as an excuse to return to a life of violence. He found that life as a general in the Order of Karros.
