The legendary silent film star Lon Chaney has had many famous roles, but one in particular is lost to antiquity. There are no known copies in existence of his film "London After Midnight". It was created in an era where saving movies for prosperity was not even an afterthought, and so it was orphaned, abandoned and is now lost for good. Only clips, posters and still shots remain for fans to wonder and wish they knew what it was all about.

My own interpretation/rendition of the main character though, is now safe on the blockchain. Every cell was hand drawn and inked with a brush, in order to give it a suitably creepy and Victorian look, before coloring it digitally. The background is several layered sections of hand inked lines...a bit nerve wracking to do, but the results are a nice uneven, unsteadying effect.

Thanks and congratulations to @deemacbee for getting the LAST edition! My eyes hurt just remembering inking all those lines in the background. Glad it got a good home!

@wierd Gah! Missed you reply, (been very busy!) So glad to hear that you appreciate the time and detail that I put into these! Sometimes I fear I put too much time into them (overthinking tiny tings), but as long as they turn out well, that's what matters.

Thanks for the explanation. I just joined the platform this week and trying to figure out the process. I love your art and the attention to detail that you do in each of your pieces. Plus the thought of the story behind your work. Take care and hope to be able to collect some of your art work.

also, I appreciate the offer on this as well! but as a rule I don't accept less for a work than the previous person acquired it for ( in USD value. For example ...last acquisition of an edition of this was equivalent of 254.00. So for me to accept an offer it would have to be no less than that in USD of Eth equivalent. ) I am glad you like it though!!!

Well have to be satisfied with that, the blockchain will never forget! Funny, when I stumbled across it and the few frames of Chaney, my friend said "wow...that looks like a character you'd come up with". It does at that, I didn't have to change my style to get it to look damn close . It's seem amazing, living in the internet age, for something to just be "lost", don't it?

Yesss! Hadn't heard of that lost film. I'm sure it was epic (and creepy). Unfortunately, we'll never get to see it; fortunately, we have your cool imagining of Lon Chaney's character.

@francescoflore thx! Although, That is actually Lon Chaney from a silent movie that, believe it or not, came out before the Dracula movie that has the caped slick haired version of Dracula we all know! London After Midnight is the name of the film...worth doing a search on. real interesting history to it.
