This is a Artwork dedicated to the people of Stalingrad, in remembrance of thier suffering during the war. It’s also a anti war statement and a reminder of the pain it brings on the innocent civilians.

The children’s fountain stood in the square just in front of Stalingrad’s main train station, greeting arriving visitors with its message of an exuberant future.

The idea behind this Artwork was to bring the statue back to life, with a little help from the dancing children themselves.

What difference does it make to the dead, the orphans and the homeless, whether the mad destruction is wrought under the name of totalitarianism or in the holy name of liberty or democracy?

Yes - I think that quote came across differently - War no matter why or how it is fought is always a crime against humanity and there are always innocent lives caught in between. One would think with such advancements , we would learn to respect life but that is one thing that still seems to be missing in big chunks .

Either way, the loss of innocent life’s is a crime against all humanity, I’ve seen it from both sides and its a meaningless act of cowardice and disgrace to let the weak suffer in the name of whatever, if its idealism, power or something else. Its always wrong
