A machine generations old, running a basic simulation of space travel. Somehow, it's managed to hang on through all these years.

Original concept March 2018, animated with original music March 2021. This piece holds dear to my heart because it was the first to become part of the Lost Relic series, and inspired the following works including Coexist. The title is a play on one of my favorite videogames, Portal. Below is an excerpt from the original caption to capture how I felt about this work back in 2018.

“I've always wanted to make a series of images about aging technology being reclaimed by nature, but up until now I didn't know all the right tools to do it. Feels good to have those small moments of personal breakthrough when you've finally accomplished something that has always seemed unattainable or behind some skill barrier that feels impossible to break. Anything's possible with practice and persistence.”
