I made this piece inspired in a portuguese urban myth. It is a heartwarming story said to have taken place during the reign of D. Dinis arround the 13th century.

The queen, D. Isabel, was known to give bread to the poor regularly but it was under the crown's expense. One day the king, D.Dinis suprised Isabel on her way to the church when she was carrying money and bread. The king noticed she was hiding something and when he asked her what she was hiding she said: "They are roses, my lord".

The king acused her of lying but when she showed him what he was carring to the suprise of everyone the bread and coins had turned into roses. The king apologised and carried on his affairs.

The story quickly spread through the land and it is still to this day a famous portuguese myth.
