Description:

Although still in the vicinity to where all the Spring wildflowers are blossoming, this ephemeral piece was made in an area that had recently been burnt.

From the ground, I collected outer pieces of burnt Xanthorrhoea (Grass Tree) charred sticks and bark: A stone and some small She Oak seedpods.

Although still in the vicinity to where all the Spring wildflowers are blossoming, this ephemeral piece was made in an area that had recently been burnt.

From the ground, I collected outer pieces of burnt Xanthorrhoea (Grass Tree) charred sticks and bark: A stone and some small She Oak seedpods.

The boulder I chose to work on was strewn with She Oak needles that formed swirling patterns almost like water swirling around rocks.

After connecting to the land: The piece came together remarkably quickly.
