ITEMS I SCOUR THE INTERNET TO FIND is a spoken-word, media rich poem by Ana Maria Caballero, with original artwork by CS Lim. This poem explores our complex relationship with virtual and digital realms, where we seek out, and often find, connections with more ease than in the world of flesh and bone. Lim’s artwork, which uses artificial intelligence to explore natural and traditional spaces, highlights the increasing complexity in determining what is real. Are our internet friends real? Are AI-generated landscapes a faithful reflection of the real? What new traditions are we creating in our digital lives? These are some of the questions this artwork probes. Original musical score specially commissioned for this piece.

CS Lim is a mixed-media artist and AI researcher and developer based in South Korea who uses artificial intelligence to explore our relationship with the natural world and to reinterpret traditional forms of artistic expression. His genre-pushing work has been exhibited internationally, including in Crypto Art Week Asia, NFT Art Week Shenzhen, and NFT Art Week Hangzou to wide acclaim. The gentle yet deliberate manner in which he renders his dreamy landscapes make his work instantly recognizable. By merging AI, nature and tradition, Lim creates a world in our digital selves live in harmony with our history and our surroundings.
